Katherine Kennicott Davis - Little Drummer Boy - Il piccolo tamburino o piccolo suonatore di tamburo (Versione Italiana)

Ci stiamo avvicinando al natale e, dato che siamo in tema, ho deciso di proporre un bel canto natalizio della tradizione americana in una mia personale versione italiana.

Note:
Esiste una versione italiana cantata da Albano e Romina, che però è abbastanza lontana dall'originale. Da parte mia ho cercato, per quanto possibile, di mantenermi sull'originale, anche dal punto di vista delle rime (ovviamente, come succede sempre, una traduzione letterale era impossibile, ma non credo d'aver fatto un pessimo lavoro).  Sono ancora incerto su cosa sia meglio mettere in un paio di versi, li metto sotto, così faccio ciascuno faccia come crede:

• 5V 1° str: Offrigli ciò che più - Va' ed offri cio’ che più (più corretto, in e lineare, ma forse meno musicale)
• 3V 2à str: Son solo un orfano - Io sono povero - son bimbo povero (il punto è che questo è l'unico verso in cui si possa inserire un dato che faccia pensare alla giovane età del protagonista - escludendo il titolo. un'alternativa era d'usare esplicitamente la parola "bimbo", ma questo andava a costituire una ripetizione rispetto al "o bambino"  del primo verso della strofa.
  La parola "orfano", oltre ad aggiungere una ulteriore punta di "paraculismo" al testo,  a mio parere si adatta, avendo in sé l'idea di bambino e di povero.
• 1v 3st: purtroppo ho dovuto eliminare ogni riferimento esplicito alla Madonna e alla figura degli animali che battono il tempo (che rimangono però, in qualche modo indirettamente, nell'immagine del venir cullato a tempo), questo è dovuto al fatto che, se avessi inserito un altro soggetto, il "mi sorrise" del penultimo potrebbe sembrare riferito alla Madonna - (per questioni di numero di sillabe era impossibile usare il pronome e inserire "egli mi...")

Sì, lo so che adesso ha poco senso proseguire su questa strada dopo "Romeo e Giulietta ama e cambia il mondo" di Zard ed Incenzo, ma io lo faccio lo stesso, almeno per finire quelle iniziate.
Ecco a voi la mia versione italiana de La Vengeance: lascio ai lettori l'arduo confronto.
